MB6/740 – Acts: A Missional Reading

The Book of Acts is the first account of Christian mission. It is a theological history, providing a sustained narrative of the beginnings of the church and its remarkable growth and development around the Mediterranean world in the course of which questions arise: Who is Jesus? What is the Good News? What is the role of the Holy Spirit? How does the church address issues of cross-‐cultural mission and intercultural community? This course undertakes a careful study of Acts seeking not only insight into the first generation of Christian mission but also guidance for the understanding and practice of mission today.
